PEREVESLO MUSIC FESTIVAL -
CALGARY’S MULTICULTURAL GATHERING
Pereveslo Music Festival - Calgary’s Multicultural Gathering began as response to the Pereveslo choir success led by conductor Katerina Saxon. The initiative, inspired by unity and healing, evolved from a charity tour to a regular performer at citywide events.
The Pereveslo Choir expanded, leading to the recognition of a need for a summer event - Pereveslo Picnic 2023 - that would allow families to enjoy Ukrainian culture and socialize.
Picnics grew exponentially, attracting hundreds of attendees and fostering a sense of community. Renamed Pereveslo Music Festival in 2024, the event aims for even greater inclusivity, cultural exchange, and celebration of Ukrainian traditions within the Calgary community.

PICNICS 2023 - IT'S A CELEBRATION WHERE WE ALL WERE ONE BIG FAMILY, DEDICATED TO THE LOVE FOR OUR OWN CULTURE, SONGS, AND CREATIVITY
Last year, the picnics grew exponentially due to our ability to fill people's hearts with an atmosphere of love and joy from socializing and coming together around a shared love for our Ukrainian heritage. It was important for us to support people who were displaced from their homes, families, and loved ones. It was important to support their entrepreneurial endeavors that they started here in Canada. It was important to create a strong association that picnics are a place of acceptance and love. And we were able to achieve each of these points.
